About us

Your international team of green policy and finance experts.

Founded in 2020, we are a dynamic team of experienced and young experts coming from European institutions, the finance sector and research. In our daily work, we bundle our passion for biodiversity, our skills for data analysis and our thorough understanding for regulation and the “right political moment”. Together with our enthusiasm, that’s our support to decision-makers who want to lead the transition to a sustainable economy.

What we do

Connecting finance to the environment.

Climate & Company is a leading European think-tank in the sustainable finance space. Our goal is to act as a bridge-builder between policy-makers, science, business and finance. Our organisation has extensive experience with working on EU, German and international regulation relating to financial and environmental issues such as sustainable finance, ESG reporting, land use and deforestation, taxonomy, and supply-chain regulation.

We publish studies, briefings and reports and are also involved in the European Financial Reporting Advisory Group (EFRAG) writing team. We regularly engage in the work of reviewing legislation and public consultation processes. And importantly, we have experience with roping in stakeholders from finance, business and academia from within our extensive network to give their input where needed.

Our Mission

Teaming up to make the sustainability transition financially feasible.

A green financial market: We want financial markets to work for the green transition. That’s why we accompany international decision-makers to shape the sustainable finance rulebook of the future.

Teaming up: We stand for the idea that the climate crisis and sustainable development challenges can only be successfully addressed together - when “finance experts” team up with “biodiversity experts”, when academia teams up with politics, when countries team up at international level.

Building bridges: We see ourselves as link between decision-makers in politics, finance and research. We help mobilise partners from different sectors to communicate with each other, to understand each other’s needs and to make the sustainable transition happen together - with sound data evidence, strategic policy guidance and concrete recommendations.

Our team

Our Story

Be it the 2015 Paris Climate Conference or the birth of the UN Clean Development Mechanism, our founders Ingmar and David have been professionally involved in key political climate action milestones since the late 1990s. In 2020, they came together to found Climate & Company to contribute to making the green economy happen with their international network of experts and their leadership in developing the most advanced methods to shape sustainable finance solutions. Today, they are constantly looking for motivated, innovative young and experienced thinkers and action-takers to complement our team.
