We are an international team of more than 25 forward-thinking experts dedicated to supporting leaders driving sustainability transformation and conservation in the public and private sector. We focus on building bridges between:

What we Do

We start by listening, carefully assessing concerns and engaging directly with decision-makers. Only then do we analyse the challenges. and design appropriate solutions, whether t hrough structured workshops, focused briefings, sparring partnerships, or data-driven deep dives . We always build on our understanding of the specific needs of a group or individual, aligned with timing and context.
Tangible examples of what we do:

We help corporate decision-makers navigate disclosure rules, we extract learnings from global policy innovations, and we contribute to international alignment, reducing reporting burden and enhancing comparability and usefulness of disclosures.

We feed insights from our day-to-day work with companies back to regulators, along with findings from our empirical research. We bring upstream, midstream, and downstream decision makers together along value chains. We focus on sustainability-critical sectors like fashion, food, and mining, where we help shape effective supply chain regulations and data solutions that actually work in practice.

Everything we do is about getting the transition of businesses and our economies financed because we believe that competitiveness and sustainability are two sides of the same coin. But we cannot leave frontrunners on their own. We need common rules, we need guardrails, and we need regulation for levelling the playing field, for internalising the economy’s impacts on people and planet, and for scaling up success stories to become the new normal. And we need the voices of companies in favour of this shared rulebook.

Our Expertise

We are an international team of passionate specialists in sustainability accounting, data science, environmental economics, policy analysis, auditing, international cooperation, and communication, who work together to drive meaningful impact. This diversity allows us to react swiftly to political shifts, including the evolving narrative on competitiveness and the Omnibus regulation in the EU.

Climate & Company employs an agile and distributed management style to steer our dedication toward pragmatic, real-world impact. Together with our partners from foundations, universities, governments, think tanks, and the financial sector, we actively co-design and co-deliver sector-specific projects and solutions that help those that will be central engines of transformation - companies and their financiers!

We are navigators and explorers, supporting decision makers in understanding and managing sustainability risks and material impacts. Through this approach, they can embed sustainability and long-term perspectives, making it a strong business case.

We have built strong networks within the EU Institutions, actively participate in European Financial Reporting Advisory Group (EFRAG)writing teams and sector working groups for the EU Sustainability Reporting Standards. We also regularly engage with leading experts and organisations in the field, whether in Berlin, Beijing, Brussels, London, São Paulo, Washington, D.C., or many other places around the world.

Our Story

Since the late 1990s, our founders Ingmar Juergens and David Rusnok have played a hands-on role in shaping key political climate action milestones, from the Paris Climate Conference in 2015 to the creation of the UN Clean Development Mechanism. From their experience in the corridors of the EU, UN, OECD and international banks, Ingmar and David know one thing for sure: If we are serious about sustainable development, we need to get the financing right.

David and Ingmar teamed up to launch Climate & Company in 2020, driving the green economy forward by mobilising their international network of experts and developing cutting-edge methods for sustainable finance solutions

Today, David, Ingmar and Dr. Elisabeth Hoch, who joined as Co-CEO in 2025, are building our team by seeking out motivated, innovative thinkers and action-takers, comprised of both emerging talents and seasoned professionals. Christof Welker completes the leadership team as our COO.
