Roundtable: How to make disclosure standards work at the international level

At New York Climate Week 2024, Climate & Company will bring together key players from standard-setting bodies, politics, business, civil society and foundations in a closed-door roundtable on 27 September.
In a private exchange, we want to build on their experience to co-create a 2025 roadmap for an interoperable and effective international disclosure landscape.
The goal is to help build bridges and to unlock critical solutions to make sustainable finance transparency effective at the international level.

Setting the stage
So many of us work hard all year round in our areas of expertise towards interoperable and effective disclosure standards at international level. Let us take advantage of the unique opportunity of New York Climate Week with all stakeholders present to unlock the missing pieces that we still need to cooperate on, together. For this reason, Climate & Company is bringing together key players from standard-setting bodies, politics, business, civil society and foundations in a closed-door roundtable on 27 September. Our goal is to help build bridges and to co-create a clear roadmap on the next steps in 2024 and 2025 to make the international disclosure landscape interoperable and effective.
The key insights will be captured and shared afterwards (Chatham House Rules)
Format
In-person roundtable with a duration of 2 hours. The first hour will focus on setting the scene and sharing experiences and views about the current state, gaps, challenges and opportunities in the context of sustainability disclosure standards’ international alignment. The second hour will focus on the way forward, carving out concrete action points and solutions to increase the effectiveness of sustainability disclosures through enhanced international alignment of ambitious disclosure standards.
