Dr. Oliver Schenker

Oliver is our Senior External Advisor supporting us on climate and international trade issues and deputy head of the research unit “Environmental and Climate Economics” at the ZEW – Leibniz Centre for European Economic Research in Mannheim, Germany. He previously held an assistant professorship at the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management, received his Ph.D. at the University of Bern in Switzerland.

He is an associated member of the Research Platform Sustainable Finance and teaches at Mannheim Business School. His research focuses on the effective and efficient design of climate policy instruments with an emphasis on the impacts of unilateral interventions in a globalized and interdependent world. His research has been published in international academic journals such as the Journal of Public Economics, the Journal of the Association of Environmental and Resource Economists, and Nature Energy.
