Niklas Gehrke
Niklas joined Climate & Company in January 2023 and works as a junior analyst in the field of transition finance as part of the ClimLabels project. He is currently writing his Master’s thesis in cooperation with Climate & Company identifying reliable indicators that predict the carbon emission behaviour of firms on a net-zero transition pathway. Niklas is doing his quantitively-oriented Master’s in Economics at the University of Mannheim, which included an exchange semester at the Catholic University of Louvain (Belgium). In his studies, he specialises in environmental economics, public policy, and international political economy. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in International Economics with a minor in Latin American studies at the University of Tübingen and the University of São Paulo (Brazil), where he did an exchange for a year. Prior work experience include internships in development cooperation at the German Cooperative and Raiffeisen Confederation (DGRV) São Paulo and at the KfW Development Bank in the Finance and Energy Department Latin America.
In his free time, Niklas enjoys road biking, hiking, and handball, and he is passionate about languages and watching documentaries.
