Jorge de los Santos

With over two decades of experience spanning philanthropy, higher education, and international development, Jorge de los Santos supports Climate & Company as Senior Advisor on institutional fundraising strategy.

Jorge has built and led fundraising campaigns at some of the most influential institutions in North America and beyond. At Arizona State University, he was a key strategist in a landmark institutional redesign, leading fundraising initiatives focused on frontier science and international education partnerships. At Tecnológico de Monterrey, one of Latin America’s leading universities, he served as Interim Vice President for Philanthropy, designing and overseeing a $250 million fundraising campaign. Most recently, Jorge served as Chief Development Officer at the Global Reporting Initiative, a global standard-setting organisation, where he led a record-breaking fundraising year working with foundations, bilateral donors, and multinational organisations across the world.

His experience spans both sides of the funding equation — developing strategy within institutions and engaging major foundations and high-net-worth individuals as a practitioner. He has advised and conducted research across leading universities, foundations, and non-profit organisations, including Columbia University, Princeton University, the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs, and the Howard G. Buffett Foundation. Earlier in his career, Jorge served in Arizona’s Governor’s administration and in Mexico City’s government on public-private partnership strategy, giving him rare fluency across government, civil society, and the private sector in both the United States and Latin America.

He holds degrees from Tecnológico de Monterrey and Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs, and is a MacArthur, Ford, and Hewlett Fellow in the Social Sciences.
