Sanaz Ettehad

At Climate & Company, Sanaz supports various projects, including those on carbon markets, Article 6, and strategic private sector engagement, contributing to advisory services, project implementation, and business development.
With over a decade of experience, Sanaz has worked with organizations such as the UNFCCC, World Bank, ILO, and IUCN. Her work spans climate finance, green jobs, and the socio-economic impacts of mitigation actions—including analysis of the EU Green Deal and just transition policies at COP26.
Before joining Climate & Company, she co-authored a report on biodiversity financing at IUCN and contributed to major World Bank publications like the State and Trends of Carbon Pricing and fossil fuel subsidy assessments. At the UNFCCC, she played a key role in impact assessments related to national and international climate policies.
Sanaz holds degrees in Economics from Tehran and Sweden and is currently pursuing a second Master’s in Social Protection with a focus on Climate Insurance Analytics. She is also learning Python and coding to enhance her data skills. She speaks English, Farsi, and Azeri fluently, is at B2 level in German, and has basic proficiency in Arabic and French. In her free time, she enjoys painting, traveling, and spending time in nature with family and friends.
