The role of Media and Civil Society Organisations in shaping public perceptions of deforestation-free initiatives in Brazil and Germany

This panel discussion by Climate & Company and Amigos da Terra – Amazônia Brasileira with the support of BRASFI (Brazilian Alliance for Sustainable Finance and Investments) as part of the Amazon Woche, is organised by the Embassy of Brazil in Berlin. In this event, we want to engage in a fruitful discussion on the role that media coverage plays in putting deforestation on the agenda and shaping public perceptions of deforestation in Brazil and Germany. We want to analyse the extent and impact of media coverage on deforestation in Brazil and Germany. Furthermore, we want to discuss how Civil Society Organisations are also key actors in shaping these perceptions. The way in which these initiatives are portrayed in the media on the other continent might play a crucial role in a successful implementation.
