Dr. Sofia Helena Zanella Carra
Sofia is from Brazil and joined Climate & Company as a Junior Analyst in March 2023, and became a fully-fledged Analyst in October 2023. She holds a PhD in Agricultural Sciences from the Humboldt University in Berlin, Germany, and has a background in Engineering and Environmental Sciences, with experience working in the public and private sectors in the area of sustainability in Brazil. Sofia is a member of the board of the Brazilian Alliance for Sustainable Finance and Investment and participates in a number of discussion groups on Sustainable Finance in Brazil.
At Climate & Company, Sofia has worked on projects focused on sustainable finance for deforestation rate supply chains, sustainable land use, biodiversity and climate finance. She currently coordinates the G20: Sustainable Finance for Nature and People project and co-leads the GIZ SAFE project on sustainable finance for sustainable supply chains.
In her spare time, Sofia enjoys practising yoga, reading, travelling and spending time with family and friends.
