Just ahead of COP30 in Brazil, our CEO International Elisabeth Hoch will join UN PRI in Person in São Paulo. She will speak as part of the session “Investing in Latin America’s green transition: platforms and initiatives ‘joining the dots’” at 10:55 at the Community Stage. With her on stage will be Alba Aguilar, CEO of Consejo Mexicano de Finanzas Sostenibles and Carolina Graça, the Operations Director of Green Bridge Facility.

SESSION FORMAT: The Community Stage is designed to be a dynamic hub where attendees can explore real-world case studies and innovations from sustainability leaders, with a focus on investing in Latin America’s green transition.
This session is structured around short, focused presentations: each speaker will have max. 5 minutes to share their work, followed by a joint audience Q&A (approx. 15 mins) facilitated by a senior PRI or stakeholder representative.

Elisabeth will share some of our latest insights from pilots we have conducted on sustainable value chains including:

Proof-of-concepts like these showcase how private and financial sector action can contribute specifically to key challenges of the sustainability transition in practice. They can trigger a “race to the top” and prepare the ground for ambitious and effective regulations.

Making Deforestation Due Diligence Work in Practice

July 2, 2024 - Various open-source providers make extensive data on companies' actions on deforestation available. Yet, financial institutions report that it remains challenging and resource-intensive for them to identify and mitigate deforestation risks in investment portfolios. The new practical guide responds to this challenge, as the financial sector is increasingly committed to addressing its role in deforestation, a major driver of biodiversity loss and climate change.
