Elizabeth Tamayo Tabares
Elizabeth joined Climate & Company in October 2023 as a Senior Analyst. Holding a Master’s degree in Environmental Governance and a Bachelor’s degree in Management Engineering, she has vast experience in the fields of biodiversity and climate finance, emphasising sustainable use and the protection of natural resources to achieve the goals of the Global Biodiversity Framework, the Paris Agreement, and the Sustainable Development Goals. More specific areas of expertise include developing the capacities of financial institutions to mainstream biodiversity, e.g. the Taskforce on Nature related Financial Disclosures, sustainable finance taxonomies, access to the Green Climate Fund, IFC Performance Standards, conservation finance solutions, and socio-environmental risks and rural development (including energy).
She has worked on projects in Latin America and the Caribbean and Africa. Elizabeth was the lead expert in the development of the guiding documents “Biodiversity and finance: managing the double materiality” and “Paths to Biodiversity Finance: A stocktaking analysis“.
When not on her mission to help the planet, Elizabeth loves hiking, doing yoga and exploring our beautiful planet.
