She further supported iDiv as a Student Assistant for a Citizen Science project ‘InsectMobile’ that monitors flying insect diversity in Germany and Denmark. Liyana wrote her Master’s thesis on the patterns of cultural ecosystem services in various regions of Chile, utilizing tools such as ArcGIS and InVEST to map hotspots of recreation and ecotourism. Prior to working with Climate and Company, she interned with UNDP’s Biodiversity Finance (BIOFIN) initiative helping countries globally divert financial resources towards national biodiversity goals. In her free time, she likes to recreate Southeast Asian-fusion dishes that remind her of her home country, Malaysia.
