Joint Letter from Academics to the European Commission in relation to the ESRS Public Consultation

July 13, 2023 - A number of leading academics from 12 universities have signed a joint letter to the European Commission explaining why the Draft Delegated Act on the EU Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) falls short of the Commission’s stated goal that the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) “modernises and strengthens the rules concerning the social and environmental information companies have to report”.  Climate & Company helped to draft and coordinate the co-signing of this letter.

July 7, 2023 - This policy brief highlights our main observations and messages regarding the European Commission’s Draft Delegated Act public consultation. This Delegated Act sets out the cross-cutting standards and standards for the disclosure of environmental, social and governance information (ESRS Set 1) of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), which requires actors under its scope (large companies and listed companies) to disclose information on their ESG related risks and opportunities, essential to help investors and others stakeholders evaluate the sustainability performance of companies.

CONFESS – Clean Energy Verification and Validation for SMEs

November 23, 2022 - Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) often face challenges with the administrative burden and complexity of understanding the EU taxonomy. They frequently receive information requests from clients and banks about how their products or activities align with the taxonomy. This can be overwhelming and time-consuming. The CONFESS project aims to solve this problem by creating an easy-to-use data tool.
