Dr. Theresa Spandel

Theresa Spandel works as a Senior Analyst at Climate & Company. She contributes to diverse projects in particular through her in-depth understanding about corporate sustainability disclosures and their respective regulatory and standard-setting landscape. Projects she has contributed to include the IPSF report on ESG disclosure measures and the ESRS consultations.

Prior to her role as a Senior Analyst at Climate and Company, Theresa worked as a Senior External Advisor for us while completing her PhD at the University Hamburg. During her doctoral studies, she conducted empirical research on the financial and non-financial consequences of sustainability reporting regulations, standards and frameworks, and critically assessed the issue of materiality in these contexts. She has previously also worked as an audit consultant for PwC, completed her MSc in Accounting, Organizations and Society at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), and received her BSc in International Business with an Accounting Major and exchange semester at the City University of Hong Kong from Maastricht University.

In her leisure time, Theresa loves to cook, do yoga, and explore new neighbourhoods and restaurants in her new hometown Brussels!
