Theresa Spandel

Theresa supports us as an External Advisor through her in-depth expertise in corporate sustainability disclosures. She has contributed to projects such as the IPSF report on ESG disclosure measures. Motivated by the vision for corporate contribution towards the SDGs, Theresa conducts empirical research on the financial and non-financial consequences of sustainability reporting regulations, standards and frameworks, and critically assesses the issue of materiality in such contexts. Prior to her current position as a PhD candidate and research assistant at the University of Hamburg, Theresa worked as an audit consultant for PwC, completed her MSc in Accounting, Organizations and Society at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), and received her BSc in International Business with an Accounting Major and exchange semester at the City University of Hong Kong from Maastricht University. Being curious, communicative and flexible, Theresa loves to take on diverse roles and responsibilities, and to get to know new people and places – preferably whilst having great conversations over good food!
