Louise Simon

Since 2021, Louise works as an analyst at Climate & Company and first joined while conducting research on her master’s thesis on how to green the EU Semester. Louise’s main area of expertise is EU public policy, economic governance and deforestation/sustainability due diligence policies. Based in Brussels, she is passionate about policy-making, particularly when it comes to putting in place regulatory measures to save the planet and its people. Louise holds a master’s degree in Sustainability Science, Policy and Society and a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Business Economics from Maastricht University in the Netherlands. During her bachelor, Louise had the opportunity of going to Bergen (Norway) for an exchange semester, where she got introduced to Sustainable Energy and Environmental Economics. That semester abroad reinforced her idea of studying how the concept of sustainable development can and should be integrated in European and international policies. She is very interested in discovering how current national and international economic systems and regulations can be used to promote sustainable change in Europe and worldwide.
